KAC, Openscript and a few other problems

Hi,

So the only reason I am making this post is because I recently banned a guy that I suspected of wallhacking on our servers.
But I banned him manually using a demo.

http://sbans.thehordeclan.com/index.php ... mid&Submit

You can watch the demo there ^^ only 5 minutes needed of attention.

But anyway that is not the point. After this guy got banned he started a discussion which led to my friend testing something out on our server. He basically got the Lua hacks or whatever they are that use the cvar exploits and changed the command in there. Usually KAC bans people for openscript violations but with his change he was able to increase his speed, shoot me through walls ect. So it was clearly working and KAC was not banning him. This is what he said to me:

04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: addons has 3 files
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: LSS.dll
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: LSS.txt
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: LSS.vdf
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: in LSS.txt is the "openscript" command
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: I changed it to something else
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: in lua folder goes all the scripts
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: suck as bhop
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: auto-pistol
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: walls
04:51 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: etc
04:52 - |TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th.: such*
04:52 - ./Creamy/.: k

|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : I'll have to check KAC
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : I changed 1 command
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : default is openscript
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : in LSS.txt
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : LSS.txt has 1 thing
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : & it's the command
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : openscript is command
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : to load a script to do for instance
|TNR| Sgt-Maj John Wallace .th. : openscript moo.lua
What he said in game^^ while speedhacking around the map.

So this is all I can get and I am just wondering, since KAC bans for openscript this changes the purpose and anyone can do this, anyone can hack with ease. He also said that on the Lua forum it is advised to do that.

But anyway, hope someone can help me.

P.S. I am not a geek or one that knows much about this kind of stuff. I don't exactly set up servers either. Both the guys that do that stuff are currently away on holiday and other personal reasons. But I hope that by the time they get back I can give them the fix for it.

Thanks,
Arthur

Yes, I'm aware of the movements of the LSS cheating community. But right now it appears VALVe is going to fix the problem rather than me having to develop a fix.

As far as the actual cheating I'm working on new detection methods.

Oh the new BETA has engine improvements of course.

Well OK, thanks for the reply and good luck with your work.

Although I must ask.

You and your KAC only detects CVAR exploits right?

I mean there are lots of other hacks that don't use those exploits and what you mean by saying you are working on new detection methods would be something different to KAC and CVAR commands or something completely new.

KAC can also detect eye angle based cheats. However, the majority of detections still done are by ConVar (and there are a LOT of those).

As far as what I'm working on they are completely new detections, like detecting speedhacking, aimbot, no-spread, etc.
