Kigen's Anti-Cheat

Hey Kigen I know your busy atm but when you get a chance could you have a look at this, I had this guy banned by KAC and what was logged was a bit odd, doesn't seem to be a logging error as both KAC and Sourcemod logs are the same.

I'm thinking it's not a bug but an attempt by the hack-maker to avoid detection. I've been e-stalking this guy to get a demo of him, I have three of a war he played, they're recorded through SourceTV. Some really sus parts throughout all three demos but I can't say one hundred per cent he's using hacks. I'm going to keep trying get him on a pub but he usually only plays that climbing mod and some weird fear mod, both have no shooting.

The ban might be caused by corruption on the client. I can't say 100% cause I haven't run across any cheat that does that so far.

Hrm, the similarities.

At first I was thinking corrupt game too, but I saw him playing about two hours after the ban and everyday since, so if it's corruption it hasn't effected his ability to play the game, it seems, which is odd, but plausible I guess. I've got another two demos of him which have some sus parts, I'm going to have a really good look at all of the demos.

I've had a close look at the demos and I can't be one hundred per cent sure he's using hacks, though I'm very suspicious. As there's a possibility at this point in time that it maybe caused by a corrupt client I'm going to left the ban. I'll keep it on my ban records as pending, but if this output is shown later to be only caused by hacking then I will reinstate the ban. Thanks for looking into this.

I'm planning to do research into how the corruption occurs and what not to see if it can be recognized as corruption over someone using cheat to make it look like corruption (or maybe it was a badly coded cheat).

Unfortunately this player hasn't set up a steam community page so I can't get demos of him playing. I've lifted this ban until something definite comes up about this output. The first player hasn't been banned by VAC yet, but that doesn't really mean a lot as it maybe a cheat which hasn't been sent to Valve. Have you come across anything about this issue?

I just came across this same issue.
It's quite important we know whether these are legit bans. Corrupt game seems plausible, as does cheat developers attempting some cleverness..

A update will come out to kick these people instead of banning them. And of course the kick will say they need to restart their game as it as become corrupted.
