Poll: Which would you like to see first?

Right now I'm at a crossroads and I would like to have your feedback on which you would like to see happen first.

p.s., There is no promises that things will happen with which ever option wins/looses. Its just to gauge what you guys want at this time.

Personally, I believe the network should come after on the sole fact that not everyone will be using it; there will always be individuals that prefer to run a non-sockets version without the network.

Well, the network is going to take on a whole new, much bigger, role in KAC.

Let me put it this way, if I were to release KAC 1.2.0 first, then that will probably be the last release to be able to do no-sockets.

I understand that some people like no-sockets because of Socket's previous issues plus the banlist thing. But I'm planning on expanding KAC's networking features to be far greater than ever. Much more than the simple banlist it is now.

Network, then KAC. Likely those who use Network complain less when it's already done on releasing KAC.

I've never been able to use sockets in any of your versions due to the fact it creates unnecessary lag spikes for my servers; even on a dedi with all the resources a source server could ever need on premium bandwidth, I get the spikes... Including the latest 3.0.0.

That will probably be fixed in the rework I am proposing on the network.

I will give you two things I'm planning to reduce latency to the master server.

1. Relays. These will be hosted in each corner of the world and relay information back to the KAC master.

2. UDP. KAC will communicate with the relays using UDP instead of TCP.

Agreed with the sockets thing. Personally I don't like the network nor having it in that form. I just want a simple plugin that detects cheaters, nothing more.

Network first, hoping that you give us more customization in what parts of KAC we would like enabled. Global ban lists should always be optional...

whats the idea in not banning the cheaters,
and not letting them play in any kac enabled server?
i think that kigen not did this optional in the plugin, because of the chance to catch most of the fishes possible to catch.
hmm i don't get it, we are here to prevent certain advantages =)
but good wind from here now on, my menstruation is finished now
